Badmarsh & Shri :: Dancing Drums
[outcaste]   review from dimm

Some tracks from this album have a very experimental feel to it, reflecting much of what was going on in the d+b world a few years prior: lots of gritty riffs, grungy and mysterious atmospheres, urban soundscapes..... while others follow a clear path and almost don't sound as if they belong on the same cd.

For example, "Gharana" and "Salsa Gharana" are clearly reflections of Shri's classical training while "Mathar" and "Lament" reflect the side of b+s that should've been explored more in this effort (and thankfully was developed into full-force on Signs).

Overall, this album is worth having in order to see where b+s were 2 years ago, but look for it in the used bin and save our money for Signs.
