bbc kills asian network. all of it.

to the dismay of many and the delight of a few, the BBC has finally decided to axe the entire freaking Asian Network!

The Times article continuously cites striving for quality over quantity, thus cutting ALL the acts from a “list”… i’ve not made it secret that i feel that BBC-AN tends to err on the “desi” side, but aren’t they throwing the cute brown baby out with the bathwater?

So the BBC Asian Network has gone full-frontal D.E.S.I. (Don’t Even Say It) by canning Electro East with Nerm and Pathaan’s Musical Rickshaw… Good job BBC – because i need much more poorly-produced bedroom ghetto rhythm & bhangra in my life.

nerm’s much more polite about it:
“To give Electro East on the BBC Asian Network the send off it deserves, we’ve got some very special stuff planned that started this weekend…”
